The Weather Service has posted a flash flood watch for our county, and as we live adjacent to a creek it's always a concern when these events occur. They're expecting more than an inch of rain in less than an hour and with the ground already totally saturated, it might cause the creek to behave badly. Fortunately, we lazy folk have recourse to data from the local hydrological station so we don't need to go out every half hour to check what's going on -- kudos to the U.S. Government's NOAA for making water-level data almost instantaneously available. The creek is now at 3.87 feet; action stage is at 5 feet and flood stage is at 6 feet.
